Tony Hawk mengawali karir profesionalnya sebagai pemain skateboard pada tahun 1982. Sebagai seorang pemain skater dia merupakan tipe pekerja keras dan gigih. Usahanya yang gigih ini pula yang mengantarkan dirinya sebagai juara di beberapa kejuaraan dunia skateboarding dan membawa puluhan medali dari kompetisi-kompetisi yang ia ikuti.
Superman is dead
Superman Is Dead (SID), didirikan di Bali pada tahun 1995 oleh Bobby Kool (lead vocal, guitar, graphic designer), Eka Rock (bass and backing vocal) dan Jrx (drummer). Tiga cowok ini menggemari Green Day dan NOFX, dan belakangan mereka lebih terpengaruh oleh musik punk 'n roll dari Supersuckers, Living End dan Social Distortion.Awalnya band mereka bernama Superman Silvergun, nama yang diambil dari lagu milik Stone Temple Pilot`s. Namun mereka memutuskan untuk ganti nama menjadi Superman Is Dead karena mereka yakin bahwa tak ada orang yang sempurna di dunia ini.
