Everyone is talking about blogging. Blogs have become important stores of information. And they have also netted a few a nice income. In order to make your blogging dreams come true there are a few steps you want to follow.

In order to have a successful blog you must be willing to put in the work. Most are discouraged by the lack of instant monetary success. In order to have blogging success you must have the patience and energy to withstand the slow period and build up a loyal following.
Most followers would like to read 1 or 2 new blog entries a week. Anything more or less will lose your following. The only exceptions are celebrity blogs, those readers want constant updates several times daily on their favorite celebrities. - 2 Pick a creative niche.
A blog on everything, might as well be about nothing. Readers want to find out specific information that cater to their interest. No one is interested in everything.
Also a blog on a common interest is competing with too many others. Pick a niche that has few, or no well known blogs. That will allow you to attract a loyal following. For example, say your interested in social network marketing and you want to write a blog about that. There are a ton of blogs about social networks; the competition is way too fierce. Try fine-tuning it. Maybe just write a blog about Twitter. - 3 Be excited about it.
There is nothing worse then to be forced to do something you hate. If your writing a blog about something that doesn't interest you, you might as well put your computer down because you'll be bored in no time.
The most exciting thing about blogging is the freedom it gives you to write about something that excites you and make some extra cash. So if running marathons excites you, write about it. If you're interested in the reproductive strategies of squirrels, write about that. Believe me, whatever interest you share, there are other people out there who share those interests too. - 4 Pick a platform.
Blogger.com and Wordpress.com are the most popular blogging platform. I prefer blogger because it's completely free and really easily to use. - 5 Pick a layout.
You can design your own layout, or look for example, free blogger templates on the internet. Just make sure to find a layout that represents your blog, and that is easy to navigate. No stark colors. Easy to navigate. No confusing themes. Don't have a blog on daisies and have a background featuring roses. - 6 Monetize it.
The most exciting part about a blog is bringing in some extra money. So once you've written a few blog entries, open a Google Adsense account and apply for a Kontera.com account. Google provides text and image ads, and Kontera provides in text advertising.
